The Iraq war veteran accused of fatally shooting five people and wounding six at a crowded Florida airport baggage claim appeared in court on Monday morning. 26-year-old Esteban Santiago, Anchorage, Alaska, faces airport violence and firearms charges that could mean the death penalty if he's convicted.

Donald Trump says he's confident his cabinet picks will be confirmed by the Senate. Trump's comments come as he wrapped up two meetings with foreign business leaders and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

A massive manhunt is underway in Orlando as authorities search for a man accused of shooting and killing a police officer. The shooting occurred near a Wal-Mart store. The suspect has been identified as Markeith Loyd.

And keepers at Rome's zoo try to warm up the animals as the Italian city copes with the frigid temperatures. Animals were fed a fare of hot food and heaters have been installed in enclosures to keep them warm.
