U.S. officials have condemned the bombing in St. Petersburg, Russia, that has left at leastfourteen people dead and scores injured.

美国多位官员对俄罗斯圣彼得堡发生的爆炸事件表示谴责，这次爆炸事件导致至少14人死亡，数十人受伤。

The bomb – believed to be a home-made device filled with shrapnel-- tore through a subwaycar April 3. A second explosive device reportedly was found at a near-by subway station, butit was disarmed by authorities.

At a lunch meeting in Washington with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, PresidentTrump called the bombing in St. Petersburg “terrible.” White House Spokesperson Sean Spicersaid, “The United States condemns this reprehensible...act of violence. Our thoughts andprayers are with the injured and with the Russian people as we extend our deepest condolencesto the loved ones who have been killed and injured.

State Department Acting Spokesperson Mark Toner issued a written statement alsocondemning the attack and expressing condolences to the loved ones of those killed andinjured. U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations Nikki Haley in a statement calledthe “images of lives lost and people injured in St. Petersburg...heartbreaking.”
