This is AP News Minute. 

A Dallas paramedic is in critical condition after being shot while responding to a call about a shooting. Police say there was a dispute between two neighbors. The suspected gunman was later found dead in a home.  

The White House is defending President Trump’s invitation to Philippine leader Rodrigo Duterte, saying it’s an opportunity for the US to work without the countries who can help isolate North Korea. Human rights groups have accused Duterte of mass murder because of anti-drug crackdown. Duterte says he has not accepted the invitation because of other scheduled trips. 

Immigrants and labor leaders marked International Workers’ Day with marches and rallies. May Day rallies will held a nationwide to oppose President Trump’s immigration policies. 

And Space X launched a top-secrets spy satellite for the US government Monday. The unmanned Falcon-9 rocket lifted off from its NASA-leased pad at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The booster then made a successful touchdown several minutes later.
