1) 首先，native speakers不会把GIF这三个字母分开念。
就像App, 不念a/p/p/, 而是念æp.
2) Native speakers有两种念法：
dʒɪf
ɡɪf
The jury is still out. 还没有定论。
两种念法都可以，都比三个字母分开念好。

GIF之父怎么说？
Steve Wilhite, the inventor of GIF, declared it should be pronounced “jif,” like the brand ofpeanut butter, rather than with a hard G sound:
GIF发明者Steve Wilhite说应该念“jif”，不是G的音。（美国有个知名的花生酱品牌就叫Jif)。
顺便说一下GIF的全称：
GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format: 图像互换格式

其它文件后缀怎么念？
File extension: 文件后缀
File format: 文件格式

分开按字母念的：
.ai - Adobe Illustrator file 
.bmp - Bitmap image，有时也直接说Bitmap
.png - PNG image
.psd - PSD image
连起来念的：
.gif：念dʒɪf，ɡɪf都可以
.jpeg or .jpg: 念dʒepɛɡ
.tif or .tiff : 念tɪf

分开按字母念的：
.avi - AVI file
.flv - Adobe Flash file
.m4v - Apple MP4 video file

分开按字母念的：
.pdf - PDF file
.txt - Plain text file

Spreadsheet: 表格
.xls - Microsoft Excel file
.xlsx - Microsoft Excel Open XML spreadsheet file
注意：口语中，Microsoft Word和Excel一般会用软件名表达：Word file、Excel file，不是文件后缀。
