　　At the word "Three!" the two boys pulled off their caps and threw them high in air. “一说到三，两个孩子同时摘下帽子，高高扔到半空。

　　And then a scene took place which is hard to believe, but it is all too true. 这时候出现的场面让人觉得不可置信，但却是千真万确的。

　　The Marionette and his friend, Lamp-Wick, when they saw each other both stricken by the same misfortune,  皮诺乔和他的朋友，小灯芯—看见两个人遭到的都是同样的不幸，

　　instead of feeling sorrowful and ashamed, began to poke fun at each other,  就不但不觉得害噪和伤心，反而大开对方玩笑，

　　and after much nonsense, they ended by bursting out into hearty laughter. 最后莫名其妙的哈哈大笑起来。

　　They laughed and laughed, and laughed again—laughed till they ached—laughed till they cried. 他们笑啊，笑啊，笑啊，直到笑到肚子疼，笑到流眼泪。

　　But all of a sudden Lamp-Wick stopped laughing. 可突然间小灯芯止住了笑。

　　He tottered and almost fell.  他摇摇摆摆几乎摔倒，

　　Pale as a ghost, he turned to Pinocchio and said: "Help, help, Pinocchio!" 脸色苍白如鬼，转头对皮诺乔说：“救命啊，救命啊，皮诺乔！”
