　　I want to start off today just to take a moment of silence for the victims of the Sichuan earth quake and also for the victims of Boston marathon bombing. 今天我想用开始的一分钟来为四川地震的受难者以及波士顿马拉松爆炸案的受害者默哀。

　　So let's just take a minute to pay our respect to them. Thank you. 所以就让我们用一分钟时间为他们默哀。谢谢。

　　I never thought I would be addressing you, the esteemed members of the Oxford Union. 我从来没有想过我能能有机会为你们坐演讲，尊敬的牛津辩论社社员发表演讲。

　　Without an guitar, or an erhu, without my crazy stage hair, costumes, but I did perform in the O2 Arena in London last week. I'm not sure if any of you were able to make that. 没有带吉他或者二胡，没有疯狂的发型和演出服，不过我上周确实在伦敦O2体育场表演了。不知你们当中是否有人参加了。

　　But in many ways that was similar to what I'm talking about today, that is introducing Chinese pop music to you. 但是从很多层面上讲，那天的表演和今天的演讲很像，就是将华语流行歌曲介绍给你们。

　　See, I'm actually ambassador for Chinese pop whether I like it or not, both music and movies. 事实上，不管我愿不愿意，我确实是华语流行歌曲的大使，歌曲和电影的大使。

　　And today, I'm here to give you the state of the union address. 今天我要向你们发表“联合情况报告”（注：the state of the union本意为国情咨文，是美国总统分析国情的报告）。

　　It's not the Oxford Union, it's the union of the east and the west. 所谓联合，不是牛津辩论社这个联合社。而是东西方的联合。
