A 25-year-old US soldier who was killed in Niger along with three other US troops has been laid to rest in South Florida. Egyptian security officials say at least 55 policemen, including 20 officers and more than 30 conscripts, have been killed in a shoot-out during a raid on a militant hideout. It happened about 85 miles from Cairo.

BASE jumpers from around the globe converged on West Virginia Saturday to participate in this year's Bridge Day Festival. The bridge spans the New River Gorge. The drop is almost 900 feet. This is the festival's 38th year.
