14 people have been rescued and seven are confirmed dead following a shipping accident on the Yangtze River.

Rescuers are racing against time as they try to find more survivors from the more than 400 people still unaccounted for.

More than 4,600 rescuers, mostly military personnel and armed police, are involved in a massive search and resuce mission.

Bad weather has been hampering their work.

More equipement and medical personnel are being deployed to the scene.

The ship with 456 people on board sank Monday night during a storm on the Jianli section of the Yangtze in Hubei province.

Most were elderly tourists from Shanghai and its neighboring province, Jiangsu.

A crisis meeting aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict has been postponed.

The meeting scheduled in the Belarusian capital Minsk was to involve officials from Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, along with representatives of Ukrainian separatists.

Kiev is accusing Moscow of sabotaging the talks.

Russian media say a fresh meeting could be held later this month.

Peace talks on Ukraine resumed in Minsk in early May as clashes have intensified on the ground in a conflict that has killed more than 6,400 people since April 2014.
