In seven years' time, India's population is expected to surpass that of China's and is projected to reach 1.5 billion in 2030.Meanwhile, the population of China is expected to slowly decline after 2030.That was according to a recent report by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Currently, China and India, the two most populous countries of the world, have populations of 1.4 billion and 1.3 billion respectively. So what is behind the demographic shifts experienced by these two Asian population giants, how can the problems that come with these demographic specifics be better managed? And what challenges will the world face in light of current demographic developments around the globe?
