2017年CRI New Media Art from Germany on display in Beijing(在线收听) |
Seven new media artists from Germany are now showcasing their works in Beijing. An exhibition entitled "Arrested Time" is meant to reflect the general trend in new media. Through his 30-minute, 4-channel video, "My Home Is a Dark and Cloud-hung Land," produced in 2011, Julian Rosefeldt has attempted to delve into German archaeology through the country's art. "We Germans set a very special relationship to nature. We have a lot of forests and images in German painting, but also in German literature, especially in music. Forest's appearing again and again and today, it's a symbol of German identity," said Rosefeldt. The ongoing new media art exhibition from Germany is a part of the "Deutschland 8-German Art in Beijing" project. Exhibitions of German paintings, sculptures, architecture and photography, as well as new media art, are being held simultaneously at eight art museums in Beijing through this September. The exhibitions are part of the celebrations marking the 45th anniversary of Sino-German diplomatic ties, and this "Arrested Time" exhibition will be on display until mid-November. |
