give it to somebody straight 单刀直入地说

give it to somebody straight 表示“对某人单刀直入地说”。但如果没有 straight,单单是 give it to sb 的话就表示“给某人颜色看看”或“性行为”。但最常用的 give it to sb 则是前文中提到过的 give sth to sb，就是“给某人某样东西”的意思。
