The National People's Congress, China's national legislature, has adopted a set of amendments to the country's Constitution, the first amendment to the country's fundamental law in 14 years.

In the Constitutional amendment, supervisory commissions are listed together with State administrative, judicial and procuratorial organs, all of which are created by the people's congress to which they are accountable and by which they are supervised.

Also a draft decision on the institutional restructuring plan of the State Council is now being deliberated by the national legislature, along with a candidate list for China's new state leadership.
