The Beijing Concert Hall is about to launch its classical music season which will run through November.

An orchestra from Switzerland, which is the resident chamber orchestra at the Verbier Festival - one of the most influential musical events in Europe - will open the season on March 29th.

The orchestra will perform with American-born Chinese concert artist George Li, considered one of the world's most talented and creative young pianists, as well as young violinist Daniel Lozakovich.

George Li is due to perform pieces by Bach, while Lozakovich will peform works by Mendelssohn.

Other highlights include French harpist Xavier de Maistre performing in April, followed by flute quartet playing Wiener Mozart Konzerte in May.

72-year-old Trevor David Pinnock, an English harpsichordist and conductor best known for his association with the period-performance orchestra "The English Concert," will also perform in Beijing in November. It will be his first time performing in Beijing.

His show will not only close the Beijing Concert Hall's classical music season, but will also kick off his China tour.
