　　Before the stout harvesters falleth the grain, 在强壮的收割机割断庄稼之前，

　　As when the strong stormwind is reaping the plain, 当猛烈的暴风席卷平原大地，

　　And loiters the boy in the briery lane; 男孩在荆棘密布的小路上游荡；

　　But yonder aslant comes the silvery rain, 但银色的雨丝倾斜着出现在了那边，

　　Like a long line of spears brightly burnished and tall. 像极了一条条又高又亮的长矛，排成长线。

　　Adown the white highway like cavalry fleet, 顺着白色的高速路，像骑兵的队伍，

　　It dashes the dust with its numberless feet. 无数的脚步溅起尘土。

　　Like a murmurless school, in their leafy retreat, 像一所听不到沙沙声的学校，

　　The wild birds sit listening the drops round them beat; 野外的鸟儿坐听雨滴落在它们身边噼啪作响；

　　And the boy crouches close to the blackberry wall. 男孩蹲在临近长满黑莓的墙边。

　　The swallows alone take the storm on the wing, 唯独燕子用翅膀迎接暴风雨，
