I gauged the distance to the seat and prepared to jump for it.  我估量着自己跟座位的距离，准备跳上去。

He sighed, and then lifted me in with one hand. I hoped Charlie didn't notice. 他叹了口气，然后单手把我举了起来。我希望查理没有注意到这点。

As he went around to the driver's side, at a normal, human pace, I tried to put on my seat belt.  然后，他用一种正常的人类的速度走回驾驶座。我试图系上自己的安全带。

I gave up trying to help him and focused on not hyperventilating. 我放弃帮他的忙，全神贯注地稳住自己的呼吸。

Edward turned the key and the engine roared to life. We pulled away from the house. 爱德华拧动车匙，引擎轰鸣着发动起来。我们把车从屋前开走了。

This is a… um… big Jeep you have. “你有一辆……呃……很大的越野车。”

It's Emmett's. I didn't think you'd want to run the whole way. “这是艾美特的。我认为你不想一路上都用跑的。”

Where do you keep this thing? “你们把车停在哪里？”

We remodeled one of the outbuildings into a garage. “我们把其中一间外屋改建成了车库。”
