Democrat Gavin Newson finished first, Republican John Cox finished second in California's gubernatorial primary. The two will now face each other in November.

The White House says President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will meet at a luxury resort in Singapore. The resort is more secluded than other options for next week's summit.

Dozens are known dead and close to 200 missing, days after a massive volcanic eruption in Guatemala. The ground is still too hot in some places for crews to search for survivors and victims.

And officials on Hawaii's Big Island say the Kilauea Volcano has destroyed hundreds more homes. Most residents in the newly affected areas had already evacuated.
