　　Ivan Learns To Drive His Reindeer 伊万学会驾驭驯鹿

　　Ivan is a little boy who lives in Lapland, the country of ice and snow. 有个小男孩叫伊万，他生活在拉普兰，那里是冰雪之乡。

　　Lapland winters are very long, and for many days the sun does not even show its face. 拉普兰的冬天非常漫长，许多天都看不到太阳。

　　But at night the moon shines far more brightly than it does in our land. 但在晚上月光会比我们这里明亮许多。

　　Ivan does not feel the cold in his country, because he is dressed from head to foot in warm reindeer fur. 在家乡伊万不觉得很寒冷，因为他从头到脚都穿上了暖和的驯鹿皮。

　　His mother and father and brothers and sisters are all dressed in the same way. 他的爸爸、妈妈、兄弟姐妹都是这样穿戴的。

　　One day Ivan's father made a small sled, and Ivan helped him; for in Lapland all boys learn to do some work when they are very young. 一天伊万的爸爸做一个小雪橇，伊万给他帮忙；在拉普兰所有的男孩在很小的时候就都学着做些活了。

　　The sled was pointed at the front, so that it could go through the snow quickly, and it had a place at the back for someone to sit in. 雪橇的前端是尖尖的，这样就能更容易滑过雪地，它的后部还有一个位子，人们可以坐在里面。

　　When the sled was finished, Ivan's father gave the boy a rope and said, "Go and get Lodo." 雪橇做好的时候，伊万的爸爸给了他一根绳子说，去把罗多牵过来。

　　Lodo was Ivan's own reindeer, which his father had given him when he was a baby.  罗多是伊万自己的驯鹿是伊万还是婴儿的时候他的父亲给他的。
