One insurance company estimated the damage from hurricane Michael at 8 billion dollars. Rescue crews in the Florida panhandle are still searching for people trapped in debris and damaged homes.

The storm knocked out power to more than 900,000 homes and businesses from Florida to North Carolina. There are reports of drivers who got stuck in North Carolina floods and had to be rescued.

President Trump says relations with Saudi Arabia are excellent and that he doesn't want to stop US-Saudi arms deals. He also says he is demanding answers about journalist Jamal Khashoggi who disappeared after going into the Saudi consulate in Turkey.

And Washington State's Supreme Court ruled that the death penalty violates the state's constitution. Governor, Jay Inslee, who previously supported capital punishment, called the ruling a beacon for equal justice.
