During all this, Queequeg lay with closed eyes, as if in a dream. 在这段时间里，魁魁格双眼紧闭，躺在那里，好象是在做梦。

Pip was led away, and the sick man was replaced in his hammock. 人们把比普带走了，那病人也被搬上了吊铺。

But now that he had apparently made every preparation for death; 不过，他显然是因为要死的一切准备工作都做好了；

now that his coffin was proved a good fit, Queequeg suddenly rallied; soon there seemed no need of the carpenter's box; 因为那口棺材是很舒适的了，所以魁魁格突然精神一振，立即显得不需要木匠的那口箱子了；

and thereupon, when some expressed their delighted surprise, he, in substance, said, that the cause of his sudden convalescence was this; 这时，有人不免显得又高兴又惊奇，于是，他具体说，他之所以突然好转，其原因如下：

at a critical moment, he had just recalled a little duty ashore, which he was leaving undone; 在危急的时刻，他刚好想起岸上还有一桩尚未做完的小差事；
