You know, I've got water nearby,probably food, but the main thing is 附近也有水源 说不定还有食物  但最棒的是

I want to be off the ground where all of the creepy-crawlies,all of the ants are gonna be. 我能离开地面 因为地面就是那些恶心的爬虫 蚂蚁们的聚集地

The forest floor's alive with stinging bugs and creepy-crawlies at night. 夜晚丛林的地面会四处 都聚集着叮人的虫子和恶心的爬虫

Making a hammock or a bed at least a foot off the ground is a must if you want to get any sleep. 只要你想稍微闭眼休息一会儿 就得搞个至少离地一英尺的吊床  

This is gonna be pretty rudimentary,but at least I'm off the jungle floor, 这床是简陋了点 但至少我不用睡在地面上了

and actually there's quite a nice breeze up here, as well, 而且上面的空气还更好

which makes a big difference from the heat and humidity of the jungle down there. 和下面又潮又热的丛林比起来 这可好多了

Overnight is a good time for hunting.That's when many potential food sources come out to feed. 夜晚是捕猎的大好时机 很多可食用的动物都在夜晚活动

Many of these sort of vietnamese animal traps were used to devastating effect by the vietcong during the war. 战争时  越共使用过 许多诸如此类的动物陷阱 它们发挥了毁灭性的效果

Basically all they did was upscale them to man-traps. 通常他们都会升级这些陷阱规模 用以攻击人类

What they'd also quite often do was smear the tips of these with human excrement, 他们还会经常在陷阱尖部涂上 人类的排泄物

and their aim really wasn't to kill.Their aim was to maim. 他们的目标不是杀戮 而是使人残废

And they knew that a patrol was much more vulnerable 他们知道巡逻队的防线会更脆弱

if they had to fend for their wounded than if they were just one man down. 因为他们得照顾自己的伤员 而不是简单的损失一名成员

And that really is psychological warfare. 真是一场心理战

All I really want out of this is something to eat. 而我就想利用这个  弄到些食物
