The Federal Reserve has cut a key interest rate for the first time in four years, reducing the rate that banks charge each other from 5.25% to 4.75%. It's a move aimed at in part preventing a further housing slump. For the first time since disclosing his guilty plea in an airport sex sting, Senator Larry Craig is back on Capitol Hill. He announced plans to resign at the end of the month, but a spokesman says Craig will keep his seat if he can withdraw the plea. And a Florida college student who was Tasered at a John Kerry event is out of jail. Police record showed he was arrested on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace. |
