According to newly released documents, President Trump's former personal lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, was being investigated by Special Council Robert Mueller at least 9 months before his home and office were raided by the FBI. Prosecutors were interested in some of Cohen's consulting contracts, including with an investment management company affiliated with a Russian billionaire.

The only leader independent Kazakhstan has ever known, President Nursultan Nazarbayev, abruptly announced his resignation Tuesday after three decades in power. Many Kazakhstan watchers say the move was somewhat expected, but still raises uncertainty over the country's future.

In Yemen, the Houthi rebel group is saying it will not give up the key port city of Hodeida, the focus of months of UN-brokered talks with the government. A Houthis leader says it agreed to withdraw their forces but will remain in control of the city.

And in New York, the NYPD successfully wrangled a cow that got loose on a busy highway. It's unclear how the cow got on the road, but the animal is expected to be taken to an animal sanctuary.
