Possible tornadoes also hammered the town of Pendleton, northeast of Indianapolis. Officials warned residents to stay in their homes to avoid live electric wires that were left in the streets.

A man with knives attacked a group of school girls and adults in Tokyo, Japan. Authorities say the man killed two people and injured 16 before he killed himself.

President Trump concluded his trip to Japan with a visit to the navy assault ship USS Wasp. President and first lady Melania Trump visited a Japanese destroyer that was docked nearby.
