Carney's view on interest rates

Fri, 24 Jan 14

Mark Carney from the Bank of England told the BBC's Newsnight that there is no need to increase interest rates at the moment despite the unemployment rate nearing the 7% level that formed such a crucial part of his flagship forward guidance policy. The Pensions Advisory Service -- an independent organisation funded by the pensions industry -- says three-quarters of women do not know what pension to expect from the state when they retire. According to HMRC, the latest number of tax returns still outstanding is a little under 3 million. If you miss the midnight deadline on January the 31st you'll be fined £100. This time thousands of people who don't normally have to send in a form will have to do so because of changes to the way that child benefit is paid.
