WBR: Food enough for Africa? 11 Apr 14

Fri, 11 Apr 14

We look at the issue of food production in Africa. Should the continent's farmers be concentrating on growing enough for themselves, or should they be putting produce on the tables of the developed world? The New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition is seen by some as a great bolstering of investment for Africa's agriculture. Others see it as little short of a land grab by multinational companies. We talk to Greg Page, the president and chief executive of the global food giant Cargill. And on the opposite side of the debate we speak to Nick Dearden, a director of the World Development Movement. Also, why shopping malls in the United States are losing their appeal to the younger generation.
