WBR: French jobs and the euro 8 Jul 14

Tue, 8 Jul 14

The eurozone's struggling exporters are urging governments and the European Central Bank to force down the euro. Several European companies, including Airbus, the cement maker Lafarge and the pharmaceutical firm Sanofi are now saying the euro's current strength is hurting their profits. Guillaume de Laforcade of the craft brewery, Brasserie Castelain, near Lens in France tells us how he's having to adapt his business to the soaring single currency. Meanwhile, a major summit on jobs in Paris causes controversy as many trade unions refuse to attend. Also, as the French retailer Carrefour announces that it's quitting India, we examine the country's barriers to foreign investment with Dr Sourindra Banerjee from the UK's Warwick Business School. And should workplaces encourage nap breaks as much as they encourage coffee breaks? Our reporter Romi Levine has been sleeping on the job Down Under.
