Business Matters: Commerzbank to pay $1.45bn to US 13 Mar 15

Fri, 13 Mar 15

Germany's second-largest bank, Commerzbank, has agreed to pay a total of $1.45bn to US authorities for violating economic sanctions against businesses in Iran and Sudan. We get the background from the BBC's Samira Hussein in New York. The president of Iceland talks to us about the potential wealth the Arctic can offer his country. It's one of the world's remaining unconquered frontiers with a wealth of oil, gas and minerals. It was a night of awards and glamour for the video games industry here in London. We speak to one of the BAFTA winners. We also speak to the journalist George Monbiot who is campaigning for the rewilding of indigenous animals to the UK. We debate whether it's anything more than a romantic notion. Joining us on the show are Ben Simpfendorfer, of Silk Road Associates in Hong Kong and Diana Furchtgott-Roth, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.
