Foreign workers in South Africa fear for their safety as anti-immigrant attacks increase. Shops and cars were burned in Johannesburg, but the situation has improved in Durban. Our correspondent in Johannesburg tells us that witnesses describe seeing a minibus full of men dropped off in the city centre to attack people. The British Government had to suspend a planned sale of bonds for a few hours today after the financial information system operated by Bloomberg suffered a glitch, putting it off line. Justin Urquart Stewart, from Seven Investment Management, tells us how the financial community now depends on Bloomberg terminals, which some bankers think are indispensable.
