Can Trust Ever Be Restored in FIFA? Fri, 29 May 15 FIFA's corruption scandal moves into extra time as president, Sepp Blatter, refuses to resign in the wake of multiple arrests of top officials. We look at the impact of his decision to stand firm and seek re-election for a fifth term in such troubling times, and look at other organisations around the world in similar situations; how do businesses manage their reputations, and can credibility make or break a business? Can NGOs harm a country's economy? The Indian government thinks so, according to leaked documents that led to the freezing of Greenpeace's bank accounts in the country earlier this year. The freeze was temporarily lifted this week, but it highlights the problems that NGO's may face working in countries they criticise. US Cuban relations may be thawing, but Havana's is freezing up, as a new ice-rink is installed. Simon Littlewood President at Asia Now consulting in Singapore and Kevin Kruse Professor of History at Princeton University join us throughout the show. |
