Vice President Mike Pence says that Turkey has agreed to a cease-fire in Syria. This comes after he met with the Turkish President. Pence says there will be "a pause in military operations for 120 hours" to allow the U.S.-allied Syrian Kurds to withdraw.

Chicago teachers are on strike and classes are cancelled for more than 300,000 students in the country's third largest school district. The Teacher's Union says they want smaller class sizes.

Lawmakers are mourning the death of Democratic congressman Elijah Cummings. Republican Mitch Mcconnell called him a "strong advocate for his neighbors" while democratic senator Ben Cardin called him "one of the great champions of social justice." Cummings led one of the House Committee impeachment inquiries into President Trump.

And for the first time, a Belgian solar car team won the 'World Solar Challenge' race in Australia. Forty teams competed in the nearly 1,900-mile race across the outback.
