Tens of thousands of people are being told to leave parts of Australia due to wildfires. Navy ships are picking up some people from beaches, firefighters are escorting convoys of evacuees down roads.

The Utah Department of Transportation triggered an avalanche east of Salt Lake City. They did this to prevent larger and more dangerous snow slides in the area.
