Uber launched a small fleet of self-driving cars in San Francisco on Wednesday, but the California Department of Motor Vehicles told the ride-sharing company that without a permit it was breaking the law.

周三，优步在旧金山推出了少量自动驾驶车辆，但是加州机动车辆管理局告诉这家出行共享公司，如果没有许可证，那么它们的这种行为就是违法的。

In a conference call with the press on Friday, Uber's vice president said, "The cars are on the road today." According to Uber, the law doesn't apply to them because there are human drivers monitoring the cars which means that technically they aren't autonomous vehicles.

在周五的新闻发布会上，优步副总裁说“那些车辆今天还在路上行驶。”优步认为，该法律对他们并不适用，因为车上有司机在监控着车辆行驶，也就是说严格来讲，那并算不上是自动驾驶车辆。
