Sergeant Kevin Frost served 3 tours of Afghanistan. He's told the ABC he helped hide the unlawful execution of a captured enemy fighter by another soldier.

Two boys, both aged 16, have been charged after being arrested by counter-terrorism police outside a muslim prayer hall at Bankstown, in Sydney's south-west. The teenagers were allegedly found in possession of two large army-style knives yesterday and police say they had religious notes on them, one of which pledged allegiance to Islamic State.

A NSW supreme court judge has sentenced Vincent Stanford to life in prison for the rape and murder of Leeton high school teacher Stephanie Scott. Stanford pleaded guilty to the murder and aggravated sexual assault of the 26-year-old, who's burnt body was found in bushland in April last year. The judge said in a police interview shown to the court, Stanford didn't show a hint of remorse.

Australian surfer Tyler Wright has clinched her maiden world title in France. The 22-year-old Australian claimed victory at the Roxy Pro, after her closest rival, American Courtney Conlogue was eliminated in her semi final. Her breakthrough victory caps a difficult 12 months, with her brother Owen recovering from a serious brain injury suffered in a wipeout.
