The United States and Iran are holding high-level talks, the first of their kind for nearly 30 years, in a new effort to resolve the dispute over Tehran’s nuclear programme. William Burns, a senior State Department official joined diplomats from other world powers for the meeting with Iran’s chief negotiator. Bethany Bell reports from Geneva where the talks are taking place.

The five permanent members of the Security Council and Germany want to hear Iran’s response to their call for Tehran to suspend its sensitive uranium enrichment work in return for a package of economic incentives.
