CLAUDIA HAMMOND: I’m Claudia Hammond and you’re listening to Health check from the BBC. Our last week’s program we debated whether it should be a compulsory HIV testing in countries with high rate. And lots of you e-mail with your views. Farer from Toronto in Canada is against the idea. She said she can’t see how talking people to stopped the spread HIV when the lot of countries don’t have antibacterial virus available for all their citizens. But Aaron from the Czech Republic thinks testing is a good idea.

AARON: It seems to me that knowing is better and more responsible than not knowing. And have a mechanism which allow potential partners to screaming one another sounds reasonable who worth of experiment. Although any mandatory information gathered on individuals frightens me. It seems it is time to discuss a fresh start.

CLAUDIA HAMMOND: And writing from U.S.A., Alex also thinks compulsory testing would be a good thing, and why she demands to see the card once a year. Then I had e-mail from Calipso in Austria who suggested completely different approach to the problem.

CALIPSO: Every time when I think about how Ethiopia was affected by disease, I just wished people with practice the teaching of our church. You should have stayed from sex until you married and you should be faithful to your partner. The Ethiopian Orthodox church has taught this for 2000 years.
