Indigenous leaders have described the 9th annual 'Closing the Gap' report' into indigenous disadvantage as 'extremely disappointing'. There's been an increase in homelessness and incarceration with 63 percent of indigenous people behind bars convicted of violent crimes. 6 of the 7 targets which include education, employment and health are not being met.

Northern Territory police have found the body of a woman at Trephina Gorge, 75 kilometres east of Alice Springs. Officers believe it's the body of 73 year old German tourist Gisela Thor who had been missing since Friday. It comes a day after emergency services located the body of her husband Wilfred.
