Queensland police say they're still piecing together details about an ordeal involving a young British backpacker. The 22-year-old woman was allegedly held against her will — and repeatedly assaulted — during a two month road trip. She was rescued on Sunday after police intercepted a vehicle with a 22-year-old man hiding in the back. He's been charged with multiple serious offences.

North Korea and Malaysia have banned each other's citizens from leaving their countries, in a growing row over the killing of Kim Jong-Nam. The North Korean leader's half-brother was killed at a Kuala Lumpur airport with a potent nerve agent. Malaysian police have now sealed off the North Korean embassy in Kuala Lumpur and want to question up to three suspects allegedly hiding in the building.

The national health regulator's confirmed it's laid charges against a man who allegedly pretended to be a doctor in New South Wales hospitals for more than a decade. It's alleged the man stole the identity of a doctor in India more than 10 years ago before he managed to migrate to Australia and gain citizenship using false documents. He worked at Manly, Hornsby, Wyong and Gosford hospitals up until 2014.
