Facebook announced on Thursday that Elliot Schrage, head of communications and public policy, is stepping down from the company after a decade.

According to Reuters, Schrage is at least the third high-level executive set to leave Facebook this year.

While his successor is being chosen, Schrage will stay on as an adviser to Facebook.

In a post on Facebook, Schrage said that leading policy and communications has been a "joy but it's also intense and leaves little room for much else."
