President Donald Trump is refusing to condemn the shooting suspect accused of killing two people in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Speaking during a White House briefing, Trump said the suspect was being "very violently attacked" before he opened fire.

Facebook's threat came in reaction to an Australian measure that could require it to compensate media organizations for its use of their stories.

And millions of French children returned to school under new safety regulations on Tuesday despite a recent rise in virus infections, in a nationwide experiment aimed at bridging inequality and reviving the economy. Masks are required throughout the school for all students 11 and over and all teachers and school staff.
