More than 50 Palestinians have been killed in violent protests along the Gaza border, as the United States opened its embassy in Jerusalem overnight. The international community is calling for restraint, while Israel is defending its actions, blaming Hamas for the bloodshed. In Jerusalem, officials marked the opening of the new US embassy, which has has been praised by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "On the glorious day, we remember this moment. Scientists in the UK believe they're now a step closer to developing a cure for the common cold. Treatments have previously focused on the virus itself. But now researchers at the Imperial College London are targeting proteins found in the body which are used by the virus to make copies of itself.
