The Indonesian Island of Lombok has been hit by another series of powerful earthquakes, just weeks after hundreds of people were killed. A magnitude seven earthquake struck the island overnight, not long after a magnitude six-point-three tremor was felt in the afternoon. There has been one reported death so far and authorities say there is no threat of tsunami.

Indian rescue teams are working to reach thousands of people stranded by flooding in the southern state of Kerala. More than 350 people are now confirmed dead, and half a million have been forced from their homes. Torrential rain has eased in the area, but authorities now fear an outbreak of disease among hundreds-of-thousands of people crammed into relief camps.

Emergency services say residents should leave as early as possible, but some people have decided to stay and fight the blaze.
