At least 12 people have been killed in a massive storm which has brought destruction to northern parts of the Philippines. Typhoon Mangkhut tore through the island of Luzon ripping off roofs, bringing down trees and triggering a number of landslides. The storm is now moving west towards China with Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan bracing for impact.

Police allege the vehicle — driven by a 21 year-old man — veered on to the wrong side of the road.
