Residents of a high-rise in Sydney’s inner-south have been evacuated as a precaution after cracks were discovered in the building. Dozens of people were told to leave the 10-storey block in Mascot around 6pm. Engineers are still assessing the integrity of the structure.

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a primary school in south Brisbane. Just after seven o'clock last night officers were called to Upper Mount Gravatt State School where a fire was engulfing a two-storey block. 11 fire crews battled the blaze which took over two hours to contain. A crime scene has been declared and investigators will return later today.

Survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire have come together to mark two years since the tragedy. Friends and relatives of those who died attended events in west London, still frustrated over the failings that lead to the inferno. It's been revealed more than 200 buildings with similar cladding to Grenfell are still yet to have it removed.
