Chinese President Xi Jinping and Senegalese President Macky Sall have issued a joint call for China and African countries to uphold the spirit of solidarity and cooperation, and jointly cope with various risks and challenges.

The Senegalese President serves as the co-chair of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

The leaders made the call in their joint congratulatory message to mark the 20th anniversary of the forum.

The two leaders say they are willing to work with other forum members to s?tick to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, and give full play to the forum's leading role in China-Africa relations.

China has issued a plan on implementing pilot reforms in Shenzhen to build the city into a demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the next five years.

The plan says measures will be taken to further optimize the business environment, such as relaxing restrictions on several sectors and further loosening limits on foreign investment in cutting-edge technologies.

The city will pilot the protection of new intellectual property rights and establish a compensation system for IPR infringements.

Shenzhen will also help foreign talents obtain Chinese permanent residence permits and attend professional qualification examinations.

Foreign institutions will be encouraged to set up securities and fund management companies in the city.

Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong on further developing bilateral relations.

He says that bilateral ties between China and Cambodia have been lifted to a higher level after the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chinese Foreign Minister says China will continue to help Cambodia in the fight against the pandemic, including providing China-developed COVID-19 vaccines and importing more Cambodian agricultural products.

He says both sides should also explore new cooperation in emerging fields like AI, 5G, big data and cloud computing.

Wang Yi also says China and Cambodia are about to sign a free trade agreement, which will be Cambodia's first FTA with a foreign country.

Hor Namhong says Cambodia wants to cooperate with China on coronavirus vaccines and establishing fast-track and green-channels for personnel and logistics to contribute to socio-economic development in both countries.

Xinjiang has launched a second outbound high-speed railway route from the region.

A new bullet train set off from Urumqi to Xi'an on Sunday.

"The travel time from Urumqi to Xi'an has been reduced by more than 12 hours, down to 21 hours at most, offering a new and convenient option for travelers."

The first outbound high-speed railway route from Xinjiang was launched six years ago, linking Urumqi and Lanzhou.

Experts say the train services will boost economic development, tourism and cultural exchanges between cities.

The lander and rover of the Chang'e-4 probe have resumed work for the 23rd lunar day on the far side of the moon.

Rover Yutu-2 will use an infrared imaging spectrometer to carry out scientific testing on lunar rocks.

The Chang'e-4 probe has survived over 640 Earth days on the moon since it landed last year.

India's confirmed coronavirus cases have topped seven million with the number of new cases dipping in recent weeks.

The health ministry reported more than 74,000 new cases on Sunday, a drop from mid-September's numbers of more than 90,000 daily cases.

A survey shows Asian Americans are facing record job losses from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The group's unemployment rates this year increased from 2.5 percent in February to 15 percent in May, the greatest among all racial groups across the U.S.

The survey says that the pandemic has been particularly harmful to Asian New Yorkers, whose jobless rate rose to 25 percent in May.

Many industries employing Asian American workers have been affected by the pandemic, including beauty and nail salons, laundromats and food services.
