The premier says advancing reform and opening up has helped boost the economic recovery in China by energizing market entities and unleashing the internal dynamism of the economy.

He says market support helps the country maintain employment, which in turn generates income and spurs consumer spending necessary for bolstering economic growth.

In the face of COVID-19 and economic challenges, the leaders called on all countries to step up macroeconomic policy coordination and work together for global recovery in the post-COVID-19 era.

Visiting Foreign Minister Wang Yi says China and Japan have reached consensus on issues including fighting COVID-19, promoting economic recovery and supporting each other in hosting the Olympics.

Wang Yi made the remarks following his meeting with his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi.

He says both sides have agreed to continue to carry out medical and drug cooperation to safeguard the health of the people of the two countries.
