A bushfire emergency is continuing in the Perth hills this morning. Hundreds of firefighters are battling an out of control blaze that has already destroyed 59 homes. Authorities set up more evacuation centres overnight as the warning area for the Wooroloo fire continued to grow and residents were told it was too late to leave. The true scale of the damage is still being assessed, but it's believed about 80% of properties have been lost in the rural area of Tilden Park.

Collingwood president Eddie McGuire has conceded that he go???t it wrong when he described a report that uncovered historic racism at the club as a historic and proud day. The comments sparked widespread criticism, including from AFLchief Gill McLachlan.

"I got it wrong. I said it was a proud day for Collingwood, and I shouldn't have. I did not — I did not mean we were proud of past incidents of racism, and the hurt that it caused."
