To lend is to give someone something for a short time—you expect to get this back.

借可不是白借的哦，借给别人一小段时间还是要还回来的。

So you should only lend something to a friend.

所以你要借给你的朋友，因为你知道他们守信用，不会耽误你使用东西。

And don’t confuse this with borrow. You lend to someone， you borrow from someone.

大家要注意borrow和lend的不同用法，borrow表示你跟他借，lend表示他借给你，还要注意后面的介词，borrow后面要跟from，lend要跟to。
