China's population grows 5.38% to 1.41 billion in a decade

Official data shows China's population on the mainland has reached 1.41 billion. The population has grown by more than half-a-percent on average annually over the past decade. Chinese people aged 60 or above account for 18.7 percent of the total population. An analyst says the Chinese population is expected to peak in the next decade due to low fertility desire among young people.
