如此庞大的一队人马

Everybody knows exactly what they are doing. But absolutely freezing cold.

每个人都清楚自己该做什么。只是快冻成渣了

We now have travelled around two kilometres from the first hole we dug in the early hours of this morning.

从大清早开凿第一个洞算起，现在我们已经在2千米之外了

And this the end of our journey. This is the exit hole.

这里就是终点了，出网口

It's here that they gonna pull the net from under the ice.

他们将从这把网从水下拉出

We may be in the middle of nowhere but it draws quite a crowd.

我们原本前不着村，后不着店的，但这里吸引来大批人群

Locals buying their fresh fish from the lake mingle with curious tourists

当地人想直接从查干湖买到新鲜的鱼，游客们则充满好奇

looking to take home a New Year's treat.

要把新年的乐趣满载回家

The net has been under water for three hours now, so it is time to bring it in.

网在水下已经布了三小时，是时候收网了

Fishing in this way is a traditional method, it's 1,000 years old,

这种捕鱼方式很传统，差不多有上千年历史

and they're still using those techniques today.

如今他们还是用这一技艺捕鱼

This is called the capstone and is driven by horsepower.

这叫顶石，要用马来转动才行

What the horses are doing is they're rotating a central pivot and pulling the rope through.

马所做的就是旋转这根中轴，把绳子收紧

That rope is drawing the net from under the ice.

而绳子则在水下拖网

It's so heavy that the fishermen themselves wouldn't be able to do it.

这很重，渔夫们自己可拉不动

They rely on the strength of the horses.

所以需要采用畜力

The harder it gets, the more weight, the more horses they use. In this case, four horses is enough.

拉得越紧，分量越沉，也就需要越多马匹。这次四匹马就够了

It is pretty strange, there is a kind of expectant calm before the storm.

说来也奇怪，满怀期待的气氛好似暴风雨来临前的宁静

The whole place is really busy. But it feels really quiet.

整片地方都忙碌着，但感觉却非常安静
