China Mobile shares gained on its Shanghai debut on Wednesday after the company raised 48.7 billion yuan, or about 7.6 billion U.S. dollars in the country's biggest public share offering in a decade.

The stock opened at 63 yuan, over 9 percent higher than the offer price.

The world's largest mobile operator by total subscribers says it plans to use the proceeds to develop projects such as 5G networks, infrastructure for cloud resources, and intelligent ecosystems.
